Also don't let other's opinions weigh you down too much - you're doing it for free, so if edgy or plot-heavy stories are what you like writing best, don't hold yourself back.
We love to shit a lot on such things, but there's enough people who will love it anyway. We're talking about a niche of a niche, here, not everyone can like everything.
