It's the same with SM, that Ash looks and acts nothing like how the current SM Ash looks/acts, it's an inaccurate representation of their final self at the ends of each series. This would be a better representation of the M21 Ash since it came from a trailer and not a cherrypicked screenshot of actual footage of the film.
