>>50761837The chikorita line is arguably the best grass type line available in Johto. Mainly due to ease of access early access to the move razor leaf decent stats across the board with good bulk. It's not nearly as outclassed as typhlosion who's movepool being shallow means something like arcanine or even magmar vastly overshadows it or Totodile which while decent can be replaced by numerous different water types all of which have their benefits. Chikorita's only replacements are Bellsprout which is honestly terrible in game without TM's. the Oddish line and while Vileplume has some advantages like being part poison and hitting harder with grass stab. Bellossom is worse than Chikorita in every way. Jumpluff has a good support movepool but can't tap into it's offense nearly as well as meganium can. Meganium honestly is the best grass type avaliable in gen 2 for the mainline game it has a decent movepool. It gets access to earthquake. It can be used to fill numerous roles on a team.
