>>47793205>' and as such is obligated to take orders, subject to whatever gym badges do to make things obey, etcThey are not obligated to take orders from you nor do gym badges have any magical psychological effects to these creatures. They are status symbols of power and that's it. Again , if you cannot accept that or feel that these objects and devices somehow affect its ability to think independently or freely without forcing it to obey to your whims, then don't use them. Its simple as that, don't use it at all. If you are so devoted to one another that you love each other, these objects are meaningless trinkets and don't need to be used period. Nothing stops this Gardevoir from just traveling with you and not being captured by you, as you are friends/lovers.
>when do they destroy their own pokeballs? When they don't want them anymore or don't want to be with a trainer. We don't know why ash's pikachu keeps it ball despite it not being used, I've always assumed it was for emergencies, but that's just an assumption.
> just make a point of ignoring it.Its canon in games like black and white (and also the anime) that Pokemon leave trainers they don't respect or want to be with. Ash's Froakie left its prior trainers because it didn't like them, several abused Pokemon escaped their trainers in Black and White 2 and are being cared for. These devices do not impart any type of magical obligation to the pokemon to listen to their trainer. They choose to do so of their own volition and trust in them.
