While this game selling a ton is not a surprise, there was one ounce in my body that still hoped about this game failing. This feeling, this hatred of mine toward this game is driven by love, love for Pocket Monster, love for this franchise once great and now declining. My intransigence toward LGPE is due the fact that this game rappresents what is wrong about modern pokemon, it being a success means Game Freak will feel even more entitled to follow this path, a path of lazyness, bad design and incompetence, "why bother if it sells regardless". This game failing was the last hope for pokemon, something that would have changed GF's philosophy, but instead strengthened it even more as this went wrong. At this point, as displeased by the franchise's direction right now, I might as well get off this ride. I hope this new audience the brand has now will be happy with it at least.
