Switch out against Purrloin, lose Corazon to a Pursuit. Switch out against Cheren's Liepard with Volga at over half health and expecting a Fury Swipes or even Sand Attack, get hit by Pursuit. Bubbles misses Rage because I fear a Hustle-boosted Headbutt may do too much damage, gets paralyzed by a Charge-boosted Spark and I move to switch her out, guess what happens!
Well, hey, at least the Emolga that killed Bubbles is Modest, which is very nice. There's another run gone by where I don't get a Darmanitan...alas. Emolga is a nice addition, though, and a good Pikaclone and Electric type, so I can't complain, in the end, especially with such a good nature.
Bubbles did get me past Burgh, at least, and she'll be remembered for that. Volga...another of the original six falls, and he deserved an exit better than getting pegged by a Pursuit. He took out Cheren's Pignite, at least...and I finally got to see him use Scald. Heh. Little things.
Also, have to say, Skye has proven to me that I have gravely underestimated the worth of an Audino - Secret Power is monstrous, and the added effects it sometimes carries are a mighty boon. She's only so many levels from learning Take Down, too, so that'd be a plus.
Also picked up that there Sandile - good nature! Not the best, since Speed is Sandile's second-best stat, but still. Hopefully I can put her to use.
It always hurts to lose friends, even if you've known them for only so long...but you have to keep going.
Also, for any familiar with the Lanterns, Emolga's nickname may ring a bell with you.
