Over the past few years, whenever I've bought a new Pokémon game, it's only lasted me maybe a couple of weeks before I stop playing and hardly pick it up again. I blame my competitive OCD/[spoilers]autism[/spoilers] not being satisfied with less-than-perfect Pokémon, combined with my laziness stopping me from bothering to breed for the ones I want. But yeah, because of that, I can't justify spending that much money on something I'll find fun for such a short while, especially when it means I have to buy a 3DS too.
Some things about XY have tempted me to change my mind, but if I do get a 6th gen game, I'm waiting for Z. Whenever I look back at my collection, I wonder why I didn't just wait for Emerald/Platinum/(didn't get BW2 lol) instead of going for the split versions which are obsolete in hindsight. Now that I think about it, it's definitely the huge difference between Pearl and Platinum that's influenced this thinking. Anyway, I figured I'd rather do that than go for XY.
