Charizard fans are fine, but they're only fans because of the anime. In game, back in Red and Blue Charizard was fucking useless. It didn't get Flamethrower until like level four billion, and was stuck with Ember the whole game. You could TM it Fire Blast when you reached gym 7, so it's only dead weight for 99% of the game instead of 100%, and even then all you get was "CHARZIARD used FIRE BLAST! The attack missed!" for the rest of your life.
