I hate the Gen 5 sprites with a passion, both overworld and battles. They're just a blocky and soulless mess and whatever immersion potential the games had is ruined completely by those. And those battle sprites, man. Makes Atati 2600 look good. The transition to 3D may come flawed but was one of the best things ever brought to the table.
XY may not feel like a complete game and there's no arguing that, but Kalos is the coziest region of all, though Alola is shaping up to outdo Kalos in that regard.
