It's funny how something that minor can get some kind of a reaction out of me long after all of the main plot moments lost all their punch. It's mostly because it made the guild feel less like a series of walking catchphrases, if only for a fleeting moment. It's simple, but it made me imagine something for a little bit.
Honestly I think I have a new appreciation for that special episode now. It's a pretty low-stakes mission you're on, nothing's really all that heavy, and it's got a few fun moments in it. Just a little slice of life adventure that doesn't take itself that seriously.
In my eyes the best parts of Sky's plot are when you're just striking out on your own as a team of explorers post-graduation. It's such a breath of fresh air from the oppressiveness that is the Time Gear stuff or dealing with that moron Darkrai. The team climbs a mountain with a bunch of other explorers, sets out to a faraway island to hunt for someone that went missing, and dare I say, the duo visit Aegis Cave out of a pure love of treasure hunting
just ignore that it sucks to play in vanilla. I'd love more stuff like this, or most of the post-Rayquaza stuff from Rescue Team.
