It was cool having the first gym leaders be the trio that counters your starter, but the main solution is getting one monkey for free that beats their's. Almost immediately after Striaton, the daycare area has three preschoolers using the monkeys. Then the rangers in Pinwheel forest have them. Then the dancers for the Amulet coin in Castelia have them. Then your Nuvema rivals have the other two you didn't receive for free. Then some of the infielders and cheerleaders in the Nimbasa dome have them.
Granted, I still like Simisage.
