Gens 1 - 4 are timeless, and I am perfectly happy with playing them regularly. The games will sell tens of millions whether you like it or not, that's just the way it is. You allowed this, by eating up Gen 5, then Gen 6, then Gen 7, and now Gen 8. We're already past the event horizon, so it's easier for me to just accept it and move on rather than desperately trying to cling onto my nostalgia. You have to seperate yourself. What gives me reassurance, is knowing that only liking Gens 1 - 4 automatically makes me have better taste than 95% of the community. You need to just accept it.
For me, all I need is Gens 1 - 4, and some Minecraft to wind down.
