The story takes place in the future, where the Pokemon world completely collapses due to an outbreak between humans and Pokemon, which caused an apocalypse that pretty much rendered all regions into wastelands that eventually merged together and became one big desert wasteland.
In this future, humans have been completely eradicated due to not being able to survive on their own without basic essential needs. Pokemon are still alive due to their wild instincts, but their numbers are thinning. There's a handful of slums about too, but they're foodless because they're slums.
The main player is a Scrafty who roams the wasteland alongside a Krokorok in order to survive and fend off rivaling scavengers using moves and melee weapons.
The idea is to recruit Pokemon to have them fight alongside you in your pack, you can switch to any Pokemon you have recruited at any time and use their current attacks.
It's for the Wii U.
