They are like mad scientist vials, admitedly with a sizable warlock potion design, and the green stuff is the toxic fumes that come out. And I think Poison+Ghost = smoke makes perfect sense. Green smoke with it being radioactive looking. Then, harking back to the mad scientist trope of an experiment gone wrong, with their evolution the mutations get progressively worse until turning into a horrible monster. That's my interpretation. It may be wrong, or maybe the designs could even be tweaked more to incorperate this backstory.
Now, if instead of arguing and saying it resembles to much an already established fictional character, lets discuss ways to fix it. I'm not that familiar with Ben10, but the dude seems to be made up of slime. How about we try to make the smoke more billowy and smoke like to steer clear of Goop.
Or we could change the color. I like the green because of the aforementioned radioactive association, but it's something to think about.
The hand bottles are interesting and something Goop does not have. Perhaps we can play this up.
Or perhaps this is all moot because I just realized that awesome Voidwalker design is going to be surveyed next.
