Booker would be interested in trying, but he may decline out of concern that his emotion-sensing ability would give him an unfair advantage. He also can't hide his own emotions well, but because he's so tiny, it would be hard for others to read his facial expressions.
As for Cooper, he tends to wear a tired/unamused face most of the time, and he's pretty withdrawn/aloof overall, so he'd do a good job of hiding emotions. He's also smart enough to strategize, so he'd probably do decently well at the game.
