>>53113412I've said it before and I will say it again. If they swap the relationship between bug and fairy so that Bug is the one that resists Fairy and not the other way around, it would go a long way. Then they need to make Bug resist itself and cut back on the distribution of U-turn. I think those alone would help Bug types see more play. Bugs now don't have to worry about Fairies halting their attacks, and now Bug/Grass, -Psychic or -Dark types no longer have to worry about a Bug weakness. U-turn would be more special since only Bugs and some unique Pokemon or Flying types could have it. It's too ubiquitous now and mons like Annihilape like it but it's stupid they get to use it better than the Bugs themselves, so remove it. If they want to then go a step further they can make Bugs immune to forced switches because they're known for being "pesky." That way they can "stand their ground" and be immune to phazing or goofy shit like stall mons who force you back and forth with hazards out. Suddenly Pokemon like Forretress would have more usage and mons like Kleavor could safely set hazards and set up if the opponent doesn't react fast enough.
