>>54420840Basically put i imagine its more like a PMD type world, but more that humans have disappeared and left modern day tech behind, leading to tech and buildings being reversed engineered human tech, which most of them live somewhat close to a larger cities, no one really knows how humans vanished, most of the population believing in a war that happened between them and humans, though not exactly clear if that happened, it has led to some mons (in particular, the swords of justice) to become sort of heroes/celebrities to the public, and are still looking for humans to put on trial, or something along those lines though with them being gone for so long, they're are just kinda treated more as celebrities.
for the more individual characters, charmeleon is training to be a professional battler, (which while still is a thing for survival outside of populated areas, but has become more of a sport and entertainment over time especially for big cities). has a bit of a strained relationship with his dad, mainly cause he's the equivalent of a cop, and they are both mutually worried for each others safety, both having somewhat dangerous jobs, and there is a bit of tension with his brother and his son, the grovyle, whose family bushiness is more working with the more seedy criminal world of the city, mainly, thievery which grovyle takes a particular pride in taking after the family business. hakamo-o takes more after his family business as well, but their business is more of a pious one, more being monk-like and religious, spent most of his early live on a volcanic island with his dad and his Abbey, mainly trying to achieve spiritual goals, but he hops over to the city very often, just to hang out with people he knows and to just experience life
