I kinda wish that the rival in Gen VI is a dick again. All the rivals after Gen II haven't been remotely villainous or dickish. True, Silver was way over the top, but at least you have a reason to hate him and wanting kick his ass and he's more than "that annoying cunt who challenges you every two cities and at the end of Victory Road." All the other rivalries feel so sterile and declawed.
