Give the mainline games an extra year of dev time, and during those years have a B team with people rotating out working on weird shit like Pokemon Snap and Hey You Pikachu or whatever again. Maybe bring back Pokemon Stadium, or make a big new Pokemon Puzzle League for the Switch.
People might care more about the IP if it didn't look fucking embarassing, its bad enough that the first console game looks like an upressed 3DS game, but it won't even have as many pokemon as a 3DS game.
Pokemon didn't get better when it finally moved ti consoles it got fucking worse.
