You are just pushing your headcanon because you think they would never go back to a place holder name after revealing the real names of the characters, that's your only argument, and I already proven you wrong with Hoenn's protagonist (we knew their real names for years and pre-release material still called Brendan "Orlando" and May "Anna") so you have no argument whatsoever, absolutely no reason to think Ray and Ailey aren't more placeholder names, so fuck off with your stupid headcanon, they are literally the same person with different clothes and hairstyle (and you can even customize that back to the original SM style) unless you prove otherwise. Show me any instance of media using Ray and Ailey in a context in which they would use Elio and Selene (instead Sun and Moon) or you are wrong.
