>>53786954Well MC goal is just to have a normal life, but he get constantly dragged back due to pissing off a lot of villains and other plot reasons. MC is an isekai war vet so he has a lot of combat experience, but i want to show how a lot of stuff just doesn't transfer into pokemon battling. Either because its counter intuitive or get the police called on him. Like for example he would try to let his pokemon into "Battle" but that not how pokemon battle work
>>53786819The way i was thinking of show a Champion isn't just about having powerful pokemon, but to show how knowledge, keeping a level head, move sets, and most importantly stamina control plays a larger roll in pokemon battling. Common early mistake that trainers make are thing like lack of knowledge, freezing up in battle, paralysis through analysis, no strategy, improper types, trying to spam power move and just exhausting your pokemon within a few seconds, poor stamina control, etc. A gym leader, elite four, champion, etc is someone who can take any pokemon and use them to their fullest ability. Now having a powerful pokemon, types advantage and move sets still play a major role, but it's not the only determining factor in battle.
>>53787045>>53787349I'm going with anime level of damage for "officals" battle, pokemon adventures for fighting crooks and villains, and the more extreme stuff would be saved for ONLY life or death situations. If you pulled even a tenth of what borne of caution dose the gym would be shut down, people would be arrested, and it would be a massive scandal. If the bones are broken, shell cracked, severe burns, organs damaged and/or require something more then a few day stay at a pokemon center. Expects an investigation to be opened up and the police/league/etc involved.
