>>12143854Sorry, I don't know what it is with /vp/ and the buzz word insult of trying to say people want to be 8 years old again, but you're missing the point.
In real life, there's legends and myths about stuff like, I dunno, the Chupacabra. People have their own stories about it, and their own myths and rumors and legends about it. It's got that ACTUAL "rare" quality to it.
It'd be nice if legendaries weren't just traded over at an event and all I had to do was drive 10 minutes to game stop and pick them up.
Like, if they had their own little mini dungeons kind of like the swords of justice did, and you had to have specific items you get from an NPC, or hell, maybe even a "boss" trainer whose at least Elite 4 level who gives you the item upon defeat? Is there something so wrong about that?
Or there could be an item at a battle tower type place that cost like, an insane amount of points to get but once you do, it unlocks a certain area where you can catch one of the legendaries.
Instead, it's like I said, running around to catch roaming legendaries (which is just a dumb concept after gen 2 did it, now it just feels lazy and repetitive), driving to game stop to "catch" a new pokemon, or playing 2 minutes through a dungeon that might require strength and flash to get through to catch a legendary that for some reason is fucking level 40 yet you had to become champion to get to it.
And yes, I'll say this much, the gen 1 legendaries didn't do all of what I asked for above, but they still retained that "rare" quality a legendary SHOULD have. Not the way it is now where every single fag and his mom has every single legendary with a bare minimum of effort.
