>>18056326Thing is, everyone knew that Mandibuzz was much better than its usage implied. It was never imbalanced, even in NU, and never saw enough popularity to get used enough in UU or RU to break into higher tiers. It was never garbage, just overlooked. Like how Terrakion and Black Kyurem can't seem to make OU these days, only less clearly broken in other tiers.
Such was the life of a defensive Pokemon in Gen V. Then Gen VI came and buffed literally every aspect of Mandibuzz at once.
Actually, once you get past the lelsobroken megas
Blaziken, Gengar, Kangaskhan, and Lucario, nothing else counts defense in general got a huge boost in gen VI. XY OU is looking to be the healthiest (read: most diverse) metagame Pokemon has seen in... ever.
