>>40416057The atmosphere and music are infinitely better in r/b/y than in fr/lg, bro. Everything in fr/lg felt much more sterile and bland, even graphically it lacked the punch of the high contrast sprites of the originals. Don't get me wrong, fr/lg were still good games and I thoroughly enjoyed em as a kid (sunk over 400 hours in FireRed specifically), but going back to them now is just a chore compared to the originals which have aged about 1,000 times better from a purely enjoyment-based standpoint. Sure, r/b/y are glitchy games at times with some shitty balancing amongst the types, but those two detriments are completely eclipsed by how fucking incredible they FEEL to play.
