Afraid I wasn't quite as prepared as I had been in the past by the time I got out to see Wattson. At least, I didn't have any easy win lined up. Lead in with Grovyle, figured it could outspeed and take punishment from Electric attacks for a while, but Voltorb didn't waste any time and just blew itself up.
Rest of the fight was rough, but we managed to pull out the win. Shroomish had just about as good a defense against Electricity, so we just kept putting on paralysis and Leech Seed with the rest of Wattson's boys while swapping around and slowly whittling them down one at a time. Hadn't expected to lose my starter so soon, but I also figured I wouldn't come out of this gym match in one piece either. I guess I have something for whenever I get around to ORAS later.
