>>46452422Yeah that doesn't matter. Society's rule in Pokemon's Setting is so batshit, that reason doesn't make sense in this setting. I personally think if a Pokemon could prove to someone that they truly love their Human partner in a more romantic fashion that would actually just be perfectly fine and society would not bat an eye at it due to how the bond between a Pokemon/Human can be.
So if a Pokemon was like "I can talk, I can work, I have a job, I make money, I pay rent, and I even have a husband/wife." They'd easily integrate into society, people might be a bit surprised to see a Pokemon being so "human" but they'll accept it because the setting understands that Pokemon have the capacity to be more than what they are used to seeing.
