I was playing around with my Pokéwalker (which is linked to my SoulSilver cartridge) and realised that it can send items and Pokémon to HeartGold as well, even if they came from routes that you can't visit until you've got the National Pokédex. So I thought it might be fun to catch a few Hoenn Pokémon on the later routes and send them over to HeartGold at the start of the game (maybe not right away though - the Tropius will be Level 35, and they don't count as being traded either).
