You could easily see pokémon-related stuff in lots of places... supermarkets, since they have colabos with food brands, department stores, the subway... even on the streets, I remember a road where the streetlights had pokémon art hanging from them when I traveled to Kyoto (picrel). Also you could easily find a lot of people playing Pokémon Go, specially when there were events. One day in Kinshichō Station there was so many people playing that police officers had to remind people to keep moving so people could properly enter the station. Apparently there were a lot of gyms and pokéstops cluttered there so it was a very popular spot to play on event days. And then there's the Pokémon Centers, which seemed pretty popular to me, they were always full of people, all ages and genders. Ah, also that year they opened the first permanent Pokémon Café and it was nearly impossible to make a reservation the first months, it was always full.
