I can't believe how low effort the event was. Even for Niantic's standards, it was lower than last year. I think the only thing they increased was the number of port-o-potties. By zone:
>Brilliant Skies:
Just a rainbow and low rent inflatable Pokemon. A few of them were deflating from the heat.
>Ghostly woods:
Literally just some fake cobwebs from target and some rocks that shot steam out. People were just sitting there for the shade
>Poolside cabana:
Had the most effort. Had some plants and tables , with a fan blowing mist. The had a fake pool with some pool toys, and a water fall in the back of it. Some guy proposed to his girlfriend there which was sweet
>Rugged Quarry:
Big plastic rock cave with lights inside, fake glowing rocks, and a bunch of mirrors for some reason. Was in the middle of a baseball diamond.
Other things:
>Water stations were lines of at least 250+ people, which sucked
>The north field had a section that was a huge mud pit
>Food trucks were overpriced as hell again, with lines for most that were at least 45 minutes
>Lots of boomers smoking weed, and people brought their fucking kids for some reason
>Getting to the island was a death march behind a million slow walking nerds
>Harlem crackheads scared the nerds
>Poketuber tent line was small kek
>Was almost 103 with the goddamn humidity, go in the morning and get it over with so you can go back to city and get AC
Overall, only really worth it if you live here or can get here for cheap. City experience wasn't bad, you could get city background exclusives and shiny rate was ok, plus bonuses and research rewards were abundant. Island sucks ass, same as last year.
Also pic related, some guy (in the pika hat) got arrested on the island
