if they're happy to let you see pokemon at pokestops, why not just flat out show it on the map if its near a pokestop no matter how far away you are, but still require you to be near to encounter it (they already have the 'this pokemon is too far away' as part of the game, and then we can still keep the sightings?
does this not make perfect sense?
whats the point of the meaningless steps where you 'activate' it pointing you to the pokestop?
