I think this evo chain captures the difference between Digimon and Pokemon. Whereas Pokemon are mostly cool or cute and even the "gross" ones aren't displeasing to look at, Digimon, even the cute ones, have this sort of grotesque aspect to them that makes them unpleasant to look at. Look at the stretched, gaping mouth on that thing, I wouldn't want that on my team. Even "cute" digimon like Agumon or Koromon have these jagged, toothy mouths that look pretty offputting.
