It helped me practice my anatomy but you have to be careful not to do it too much because then you’ll make your art only through tracing which doesn’t help improve your art in the long run. Drawing without tracing will because if you draw something long enough you’ll improve on it no matter how little. You’ll probably look back at your old art and say “I can do that better” and then proceed to redraw it with your slightly improved art. I do this a lot.
