>>53253881This is really cool. So far it fits whatever conventions we have for the "convergent" forms right now: Kantomon, seems more like mimicry than convergence, and radically alters the typing and movepool. I like this one a lot, actually. There is such a thing as tree crabs so this is not totally out of left field and when I saw this I immediately thought of a spittle bug as an interesting additional inspiration for a crab/spider hybrid. I mean, there's also literally crab spiders and spider crabs so it is a really good connection to make since there's a real life version of it. You could even insinuate in its lore that it may actually be a crustacean taking on a spider like lifestyle. I'm so in love with this idea I'm actually going to flesh it out, with my own spin on some things:
>Krachnid & Queengler>Poison/Bug>Ability: Hyper Cutter/Hydration/Adaptability (HA)>Dex Entries for Krachnid:"This arachnid like Pokémon uses its spindly legs to quickly ascend and descend trees in its humid forest habitat. It searches for puddles that form within the leaves of tropical plants so that I can deposit its eggs."
>"Its menacing claws are not just for show. It uses them as tools to help snip and spin its toxic webs, which it constructs using a venomous bubbly foam it spews from its mouth.">Dex Entries for Queengler:>"Much larger and more aggressive than its previous form, it protects its brood by weaving a series of venomous threads around the nest. It then sprays a coat of toxic foam over the webs, creating a nest of bubbles that only it and its offspring can wade through safely.">"Its claws are now much larger and have become effective deterrents against would be predators. If another Pokémon is foolish enough to ignore this warning, Queengler will grab them in its claws and rapidly weave venomous web around them, suffocating them to death."
