>>53092843No it just might have been fun to have Ash, Misty, May, and Max traveling together to have some sort of boys vs girls rivalry dynamic rather than May just being there as blatant coombait. I like Brock, but he got just as stale as Misty did by Johto, and he pretty much never got any better. His entire schtick was being a horndog and cooking while being the “mature” one of the group. By the time AG started, Ash could have fulfilled more of a mature role since he had obviously grown as a trainer while May and Max were the newbies.
