Obviously Ash as a main character has more examples but regardless it makes him more likeable. He went as far as to putting his dream on the line for Bianca and it was very well done with his reasoning in all (obviously with some idiocy mixed in) can't recall a single moment with misty like that.
Brock didn't train much but the fact that you can recall every single one of his pokemon makes it more memorable than misty's. What did misty had in johto? Togepi, Corsola (?), am not sure did she had starmie with her? and ???. It's been a while can't recall anything else...
