I personally didn't like it. I've played gens 1-4 and loved them all, but I got Black when it came out and for some reason didn't like it as much. I played through the whole thing to the end, just to prove that there wasn't an aspect I was ignoring, and the entire time I didn't like playing it. I think the reasons were because I didn't like any of the new mons, namely the starters, or really any mon you get in the first half of that game, but this is entirely an opinion of the mons themselves, and doesn't translate to good/bad design. I also didn't care for the characters, or the main plot, with a rivalry between "truth" and "ideals," and that the supposedly main villain's whole schtick was "free all pokemon."
I do, however, respect those who enjoyed it. It's a game, and just because I didn't like it doesn't mean it's objectively a bad game. I think I'll replay it when I get a chance, and if I come to realize that it's good, get Black 2.
