>>51316222>>51316246I was trying to bait him see he how far a game about mythology and with Jack Frost as the mascot(usually a Fairy race demon) has fairies in it. I never really followed the drama over fairies and shit in Pokemon beyond that people's biggest complaint is probably that they just look gay, while fairies in SMT can look like pic related. Just like how people complain about shared XP making things too easy while that was never a problem in SMT ever.
Strange Journey is unironically the furthest you're gonna get, adult soldiers in powersuits wielding big guns and exploring demon society under Antarctica. But a lot of SMT is based on occultism and mythology so that might be too fantasy for you(and you won't stand the first hours of SMT IV despite the rest of it being in post-apocalypse modern Tokyo, so your best bets are SMT I or II which a more cyberpunk).
Your only other objections are Medabots, which is dead in the west and whose best games are Japan only, but are all about customizable robots with guns. Digimon, which might have too many knights and angels for you, it doesn't know if it's science-fantasy or cyberpunk sometimes
