I know some people would rather GF didn't release a game this year and give more development time to it (implying they wouldn't just start developing it later this year and give it the same amount of time), but from their point of view there are little downsides in releasing another game this year.
Wether you like it or not, both XY and ORAS sold pretty well, which means more money for them, and why would they say no to money?
I expect an announcement in May or June. And if there isn't one... well, hopefully they'll give the new game(s) a longer development time.
