The BFG which is the only thing that'd bypass Chief's Shields and gib him for sure is not tailored for killing humans, and requires demonic energies to function which in a neutral battlefield wouldn't necessarily exist
There's plenty of stinkers for them in the first seasons (Although the had already shown biases and retarded judgment back then with Rogue Vs Wonder Woman and Lex vs Iron Man being standout pieces of shit from every angle)
