>>34859054>There's nothing "hard" about it, the only result is I'm using less Pokemon I want to use because of an arbitrary reason and an outdated mechanic. On the contrary, prior to gen 7 I always ended up with 4 very high level mons because the other two were HM slaves and weren't soaking up exp, which made the game way easier than actually training 6 mons.Maybe you’re just a brainlet for keeping HM slaves with you the entire game rather than only using them for the maybe 5-10% of the game they’re actually required.
>It's not even immersive in the role-playing aspect and I'd argue it is the opposite. My levitating Pokemon should be able to get me past this body of water. My fire Pokemon should be able to do short work of the puny tree. My lv100 dragon should be able to blow this stupid rock to smithereens. Then how do you lock that behind gym badges/game progression. There would have to be some other arbitrary pacing mechanic you babies would complain about until they made it easier.
>There's 0 reason to defend HMs instead of asking for something better.Such as pulling a Tauros out of thin air? Why not just have more Key Items at that point?
>>34860510It’s more of a challenge early game when you’re stuck with low-level shitmons and not enough money to buy more medicine than you’ll ever use.
