They probably aren't lazy. They're comfortable. They know their brand is strong and don't need to work that hard to sell, nor have to worry about competition. They aren't unique in doing this.
People should absolutely complain about it looking and running like shit. The negative press is often times the only thing that keeps companies in some sort of line. Or at the very least, in a long hilarious string of attempted damage control.
There are games that did improve after the harsh complaints. Bloodstained went from looking like a ps2 game to something gorgeous due to backers complaining about the graphics and art style.
I think the complainers aren't just graphic fags, but fans tired of their favorite series never evolving. GF needs to be held at much higher standards. Fuck them.
