Fixing bad pokemon that should be good threads are always fun. Anyone who feels a Pokemon is not as good at it should be, think of ways to fix it and post it here.
I'll start with the Serperior, Emboar and Samurott, probably regarded as the worst starters. These had good potential when first leaked, but a few poor design choices made them pretty shit.
Serperior
>A movepool
Emboar
>Fire, Fire/Rock, Fire/Steel
>20 pulled from Sp. Attack and placed in Defense and Special Defense
Samurott
>Water/Fighting
>Sword is the obvious blade on its head. Dumb arm swords retconned to just armour.
>108 Attack and 100 Sp. Attack, not the other way round.
>Shell Smash
Serperior is Contrary + Leaf Storm. It's fast so it can get away with it, but being a one-trick pony can only go so far.
Emboar should just not be Fire/Fighting on principle. Unfortunately it is a slow non-defensive fire type so there's not much you can do to save it. Fire/Rock would do wonders with Head Smash and it was never going to survive a Water or Ground attack anyway. Fire/Steel would give it a leg to stand on defensively, but it only gets 2 Steel moves and they're both through tutoring.
I'm still mad about how badly they fucked up Samurott. Unfortunately Keldeo seems to have doomed it from the start. The leg swords are the most retarded things in the world and Shell Smash, Water/Fighting and preference to physical attack seem incredibly obvious. it would be a pretty good pokemon if this stuff happened but they sacrificed it all just for some /mlp/ bait.
