For example:
Jotho would have been more interesting to have Whitney and Morty as partners, Whitney as a walking problem always making the group take the wrong path, and Morty as an expert in legends explaining the rich mythology of Jotho.
Hoenn with Brawly as the big brother figure, but unlike Brock, carefree, with zero culinary qualities, bringing us chapters where Ash and May have to go through a thousand hardships to get a decent meal, as well as every time they see them trying to cook and fail miserably
Finally Sinnoh could have given us to Candice, changing the dynamics of the group, now being the girls the dominant side, leaving Ash to make tantrums whenever they wanted to go shopping, besides the big sister figure dynamics with Ash has been used very little.
