>>55996693I love HMs...in concept. The reason why people hate them is that you're basically FORCED to take up move slots with them. It's fine with moves like Surf or Fly which are pretty good but Rocksmash is basically worthless in-game.
That said I love the idea that it's you and YOUR POKEMON traveling through the world. I hate replacing them with boring shit like the Bike or Koraidon or even Pokemon Ride. Let me ride on the back of my arcanine. Let me sail the ocean on my blastoise. Let me fly on my charizard or pidgeot. The metanarrative of the games is losing that sense of adventure and freedom by making everything a system or a service. I'm supposed to be on a POKEMON adventure! Let me adventure with my Pokemon.
