>>40049878Because they used the excuse that it makes the animation smoother, even though they were doing perfectly fine with XY which is when they started using the specific animating program that helps them make everything look so good. They have it all detailed in a long interview and even go into specifics of the timeframe it takes them to complete everything.
In reality it was just an excuse because animators and writers left after XY&Z ended so with the smaller staff they had to cut corners and occasionally higher freelance animators to do some scenes or episodes so that the entire season doesn’t look worse than the previous one, even though it still does.
How they managed to put out a worse animated League final battle than the previous one that looked absolutely stunning, even though the simpler artstyle was supposed to make everything look better, I have no clue
