While the game wasn't good per se, it finally gave the pokemon franchise a story that was actually quite good. Sure the scenes lasted way longer than they should have with slow text speed and 'echoing' dialogue, but I'm still happy that the franchise got a rather good story after all these years.

Do the mangas have good stories?

A good story in pokemon has been achieved a grand total of one time. Pic obviously related. Explorer's story was decent, not good, but still far and away the best aside from Gates

I'll compare it to the story of BW1 when it comes out which had the best story in the main series, which is like bragging about being the tallest person in Lilliput
