Personally, I thought they were pretty great for what they were. As “main series” games they’re pretty middle of the road, but as a harmless spinoff series they’re cute and fun. The pokemon capture mechanic was surprisingly enjoyable and I think the XY-esque chibi style looks really nice in HD. I’d love to get a Let’s Go Togepi, but I’m biased because Togepi is my bro.

Despite all the new changes for the worse, I would've bought this game if it had all the Pokemon. I like gen 1 but kanto is my least favorite region. But the nice graphics, the following Pokemon, eevee's voice, it all looks so appealing. If they ever make a patch for the rest of the Pokemon, I'll break down and buy it.
