Rescue and the main game of explorers are not like this at all. That's the key here "main game" Explorers post game is just items, abilities and IQ skills. Drifblim and palkia are the best mons and are prime examples of this. Explorers does have improvements, better storage management, team is easier to set up, recruiting in dungeons more WAY more efficient, more pokemon get spread moves (blizzard) but for every step forward 3 were taken back. Sure my water starter gets blizzard to hit the whole room (it misses and has low pp) but non are in the IQ group to increase its accuracy. Golduck/psy is and they also get cloud nine and damp. No explosions, weather damage and best of all if paired with a flying / fighting type, they attack twice! See? Abilities shouldn't be this good cause this shit shouldn't exist. IQ groups are retarted and its this gens equivalent to base stats. Some pokemon are simply outclassed. This didn't exist in rescue. Rescue had less pokemon but more variety. Low pp, low acc and less power means you really can't afford to miss or screw around with mons outside the top contenders.
