>>36260524Sky is overly praised. Yes it is good and very well may be the best but Sky fans are pretty rabid much like Paper Mario TTYD fans. Most answers you'll see here will just be "Sky is the best everything else is shit." So I'll give you an actual answer. While I haven't played gates myself, I did play the demo and from that plus what's already known about it I can tell you some of the major issues people have with it. First, gates only has gen 5 pokemon, no personality quiz to even get one, it has slow text speed, and you have a limited view of the dungeon, basically think of the camera as zoomed in more. That's pretty much all I can say on gates that I actually know.
Super is pretty good but some people don't like certain changes it makes or the first 30% of the story. Recruiting pokemon isn't a thing in this game, they're now rewards for completing missions for them. So say some pokemon asked you to find an item for them you'll then get that pokemon after doing so. After some missions they'll introduce you to more than 1 pokemon at once too. Some people like it over the old method, others don't. As for the story part, the beginning is very slice of life-ish, which again has some people split. Basically if you're in the "omg gib me guild now" camp, you'll probably not enjoy that part of the story as much. There's a lot of build up and character development around the town/characters you meet in the beginning so if you ever wanted that, this does it. Finally, Super has a lot more emphasis on using your resources and so the challenge of the game has gone up a lot more compared to the other games. There's a lot of interesting things you can do with the new items in this game. Many consider Super's gameplay to be the best hands down.
And lastly Sky. You can basically think of Sky as a better RT in all aspects. I don't think I need to say much more than that. Its more of what you like but even better.
