>>47231946I disagree, I like Gou and can relate to the little dork but he definitely needs to be challenged more often in the anime to help him grow. If he keeps going at this rate his character growth will slow down to a snail's pace and really go nowhere. He needs a proper rival as well and with Gary being Ash's original Rival and not only a great trainer but a great Researcher which helps him relate to both of them. He's going to slightly bully Gou into being a better researcher.
